Visualize, for just a moment, what 1 billion pounds of unprepared kernels would look like — and when you consider that that’s 2000’s domestic non-wholesale sales alone, it will quickly become clear just how many of your personal friends love the taste. And upwards of 1.000.000 pounds come from the Popcorn Factory, ready prepared as popcorn favors, gourmet popcorn, tins of popcorn and popcorn balls, yearly. Considering their three decades of experience, you can confidently order from them, no matter which variety you crave. You require the finest ingredients to produce top quality popcorn, so they sort through domestically grown kernels to obtain the best available. After that, pure corn oil pops the kernels allowing the flavors to infuse into the flesh. It’s then packed up and shipped out without delay — so that it stays fresh. Their line with the widest reputation is easily the tins of popcorn, with the small tin holding 2.5 gallons and the large tin’s capacity being 6. So if you have a company event that wants snacks providing — or just want to get you and your family enough to last through movie night for a few weeks — you know what to order. Plain, naturally, and buttered — but you can also find them offered flavored with white chocolate raspberry or banana cream pie. However if these are too big, they do offer different alternatives; most popularly a range of gift boxes. These are sent out decorated to feature the occasion of your choice like Hanukkah, a favorite sports team, Christmas, “thank you”, et cetera. Still not enough? You can raise the stakes, adding an appropriate image, a personalized message, or the name of the recipient.

Some customers are sure of a favorite flavor and as a result purchase a big box of it. However, assortment packages and samplers carry a small quantity of several kinds so people can sample everything.

And if you desire more, while keeping that arrangement of flavors, you can put a tower together. Although many towers are premade, one can also determine the contents of each container in a given tower. You can have popcorn delivered in practically any flavor your heart desires from the Popcorn Factory. Owing to their presentation they make wonderful presents. There’s no smarter way to make someone happy across the U.S.A.

The Champion Juicer is an intriguing juicer because it falls somewhere between the usual realm of centrifuge juicers and masticating juicers. Most masticating juicers are designed for the super health-conscious juicer and therefore are designed to juice wheatgrass. Similarly, they are often cold-press juicers (no faster than 200 RPMs to avoid oxidation). However, the Champion Juicer cannot juice wheatgrass and its motor runs at 1250 RPMs. Thats faster than 200 RPMs but its also way slower than the 5000 RPMs of some centrifuge juicers. Therefore, Champion Juicers seem to target their very own segment. That segment might be rigth for you!

The difference in RPMs of the types of juicers is a good way to illustrate the differences in their designs. They don’t need to be the healthiest juicer out there, yet healthier than centrifugal juicers, but not as slow as cold-press juicers. Therefore, if youd like to havea healthier lifestyle but dont have the extra time to spend juicing or you dont intend to juice wheatgrass, a Champion Juicer is a great choice for you.

Champion Juicers are known in the industry as very durable juicers. They were built to last, which is probably why Champion offers a 10 Year Warranty. Theyve had essentially the same design for about 50 years, and it has stood the test of time. They only have 2 different models- the Household and the Commercial version. The only important difference is that the Commercial version has stronger ball bearings and can be run for longer periods of time. So, if you intend juice in large bulks or you have some form of a business that you plan to use the juicer for, the commercial version would be a good idea. Both versions come in 4 different colors (White, Silver, Almond and Black) of a painted metal body. The metal aspect makes them easy to clean and difficult to stain. Like all masticating juicers, they can be used as a food processor for more creativity in the kitchen.

If youre thinking of getting a Champion Juicer, go to www.PurelyJuicers.com for a great deals and free shipping on all juicers.

The purpose of aromatherapy is to boost our health using plant and essential oils. Aromatherapy has been used for 1000s of years as an aid to better our well-being. There are around 90 volatile oils that have been discovered on the planet. There are other essences you can accept under the expression aromatherapy : sea salts, sugars, jojoba (a liquid wax), hydrosols, herbs etc.

In more detail, what exactly are the health benefits? It seems improbable that just from sniffing a substance or putting it on my skin, I can boost my health. What is actually going on? The aroma of the natural essential oil gets the mind to trip a chemical reaction, and when breathed in directly to the lungs, the natural components can provide a health benefit. Since volatile oils are so powerful and concentrated, they never should be placed on to the skin in their fully concentrated form. To apply essential oils to the skin, they are typically combined into a carrier like a cold pressed vegetable oil, also known as a carrier oil. Popular carrier oils include apricot kernel oil, sweet almond oil and grapeseed oil.

So where can I get aromatherapy items, and what should I look out for? A general rule is to be distrustful of products that don’t list their ingredients and also those that do not apply pure essential oils. Looking on the internet, there’s a large number of aromatherapy retailers, where you can buy anything from Aloe vera aftersun to aromatherapy oils.

I hope you will learn more in regards to aromatherapy as it’s a wonderful boost to ones health, and it can also be done at home, and doesn’t come with any huge monetary or time costs.

You must add some fresh cherries, which are now in season, to your health routine this week.

I don’t know about you, but when my local supermarket runs specials on cherries, I won’t leave the store without buying several pounds of these delicious and healthy orbs.

Folklore has long touted the humble cherry as a health-giving food, so it’s nice that hard science is now confirming what natural health nuts have known for years.

Dr. Russell J. Reiter, professor of neuroendocrinology at The University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, conducted a five-month study and found that tart cherries contain significant amounts of melatonin a hormone produced in the brain’s pineal gland that has been credited with slowing the aging process, and fighting insomnia and jet lag.

Reiter says, “The combination of antioxidants in cherries can be very beneficial.”

Ludwig Blau, Ph.D., claimed he cured his gout by eating six to eight cherries each day. Although he had no scientific explanation for his discovery, he said he could only get out of his wheelchair as long as he ate cherries. He noted that twelve other people with gout who ate cherries and drank cherry juice found relief from the disease.

Cherries are rich in beta-carotene, vitamin B1, C, calcium, copper, iron, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, silicon, flavonoids and the fiber, pectin. Darker cherries are even more mineral rich.

At Forsyth Dental Center a study was done that showed black cherry juice blocked 89% of the enzyme activity that would lead to plaque formation.

One caution, however, and it’s an important caution…

Cherries are one of the most chemically contaminated fruits, so be sure to buy organic whenever possible. While shopping, look for fresh green stems with plump, colorful, shiny skinned cherries. Avoid scabby looking cherries that have mold or look like they’ve been sitting in the store too long.

Cherries are wonderful plain, but they’re also terrific in fruit salads, smoothies, and juices.

While I have your attention, how about a fresh cherry smoothie recipe?

Cherry Smoothie Recipe

2 cups tart cherries (seeds removed of course)

1 ripe banana, peeled

1 cup cherry juice (or other juice)

Put cherries, banana and cherry juice blend in your blender or food processor and puree until smooth. Be sure to serve immediately. This recipe makes four 8-oz servings.

And, yes, dried cherries can be enjoyed year round.

Vegetarianism is being initiated by the Sages in China and India since time immemorial to prohibit the infliction of cruelties upon fellow animate beings. It is the very basic in the cultivation of compassion and love among all sentient beings. Today, with adequate evidential materials which involve men from all walks of life and traditions, vegetarianism is acknowledged all over the world, as essential diet to promote not only health consciousness but also moralities as the principality of life as well. It is a goal towards Universal love and peace and a provider of good health for the soul.

Many scientists have come to a conclusion that man is by nature to live not on meat but on a vegetable diet. Man’s structure, external and internal, compared with that of the other animals, shows that fruit and succulent vegetables constitute his natural food. On top of all the contrasts, herbivorous animals are docile in nature but that of meat-eating carnivorous animals are fierce and wild.

Fats of animal flesh such as cholestrol do not dissolve easily in the human body. Instead they deposit themselves unceasingly upon the walls of the meat-eater’s blood vessels. As time goes by, the vessels become thicker and norrower, permitting lesser blood to flow through. This affects the function of the heart that is forced to increase its pumping capacity in order to send blood through clogged and contracted vessels. As a result, high blood pressure, strokes and heart attack prevail.

On the other hand, during the agony of being slaughtered, the terrified animals undergo profound changes. First of all, secretion of toxins generated by rage and fear at the time of slaughter, are forced into the blood stream. Through circulation of blood, these poisonous substances are pervaded to various muscles of their bodies. Slaughter not only terminates the normal cleansing functions of the body but also leaves the animals saturated with their own waste substances.

Toxin wastes, including uric acid are present in the blood and tissue, as also are bacteria from animal diseases, such as hoof and mouth disease, contagious abortion, swine fever, malignant tumor, etc. Urea and uric acid which deposit in the muscle fibers of meat are among the most eminent wastes that a meat-eater burdens his body with. A pound of beefsteak contains about 14 grams of uric acid. The intake of uric acid is too much for the kidneys and liver to eliminate beside the body’s own daily production and as a result, the excess uric acid is deposited throughout the body hence causing painful conditions of gout, rheumatism, headache, epilepsy, hardening of the arteries and nervousness and many others.

Man is by nature a vegetarian spiritually. In the Genesis of the Bible, under the story of creation, God, after created human said, “I have provided all kinds of grain and all kinds of fruit for you to eat; but for the wild animals and for all the wild birds I have provided grass and leafy plants for food.”

Man is not just a body of mere biological organism. The greatest concern is the acquisition of insights into man’s innermost being which is frequently referred to as his “Spiritual Nature or Conscience.” From the standpoint of Nature’s Law and Order, all creations are one - that is, all life forms whether human or non-human, are descendants of a common root.

T.A Chew, an accountant by profession, after reading a message from Goddess of Mercy, “Show mercy, in return you shall receive mercy” told himself that “vegetarianism” has great meaning. To cultivate compassion, he must be a vegetarian himself.

As a basis for meals and menu planning, refer to the pyramid information mentioned earlier to make sure you have the basic food requirements met for all family members. Then cross check and plan by looking over basic food categories to target healthy foods to fit the lifestyles and health of everyone. For example, if someone has depression, add some foods mentioned above to his or her dietary plans that aid in the healing and prevention of depression.

Meal planning also depends upon several factors like the number of people eating, meal times, special dietary concerns, budget, available foods, recipes on hand and likes and dislikes of everyone who will be eating. Begin by choosing foods and recipes that you like and know how to prepare well and that fit into everyone•s dietary plans. If one or more people have special needs, like diabetics, plan ahead for substitutions either in the food preparation or food substitution for that individual or for those individuals.

There are a few things to note when making meal choices and menu planning. First, some foods may be advertised a certain way, but that doesn•t mean you can•t experiment. For instance, eggs and sausage can be served for dinner, not just breakfast. And waffles can be made from healthy wheat grains and eaten for lunch with fresh fruits instead of sugary syrup and heavy butter for breakfast.

Add variety, too. Have other family members jump in and prepare meals some nights and on weekends. Kids enjoy making macaroni and cheese, so host mac-n-cheese night on Wednesdays, for example. Then alternate different vegetable combinations, colors and textures to vary the menu on a weekly basis (no need to let boredom take over on Wednesdays with the same routine!)

To help with family food budget concerns, clip coupons from newspapers, weekend inserts, and any place you can find them. Downloaded coupons from the Internet to save money, too, from places like CoolSavings.com and CouponCart.com. RefundingMakesCents offers an affordable subscription to a neat print magazine for coupon deals, trades and lots more, with a secret code to their website for Internet coupon-codes for lots of online companies like Amazon.com (cookware) and Barnes and Noble (cookbooks).

Also note seasonal food selections for savings. Create menus and meals based upon what•s on special that week or month. Hint: stock up and store or freeze special-priced items and family favorites when possible and storage room and the budget allows. But don•t over do it. With convenience stores and supermarkets for food shopping in practically every neighborhood anymore, there is no need to hoard. An old saying, ‘Haste makes waste” might apply if you see a great buy, purchase multiple items, then let them become outdated and have to toss them out.

One fun way to save is by trading coupons and working out food deals with friends, family, neighbors, your church group and anyone else who•d like to join in. Food cooperatives and farm markets available in your area may offer special pricing to groups or large purchases. So team up for better purchasing power and split everything up between group members. If you•re not into that much organization, go one-on-one with a neighbor, other friend or relative. Buy a huge bag of potatoes, onions, oats, and / or other foods, then share.

Here is one special item to note with regards to dietary planning. It•s unfortunate, but fast foods, especially those that are high in fat content (fried, greasy foods), are often cheaper than good, healthy food choices. For example, lean beef costs more than high-fat beef; cereals high in nutritional value are often priced much higher than the low-cost, sugary brand names. And low income and homeless people are particularly victims of this situation, many times needing to turn to the less healthier food choices for survival. So whenever possible, your plans might want to include donating a portion to homeless shelters and churches who would probably be more than willing to take extras off your hands.

Omega 3 oils or oils that contain omega-3 fatty acids include fish oil, algae oil and flax seed oil. Of the three the best source of DHA — memory omega 3 — is fish oil. DHA is the fatty acid present in large quantities in the brain.

Researchers have noted low levels of DHA in the bloodstream of individuals suffering from several neurological conditions. Although it is not understood yet exactly why omega 3 oils improve memory, the thought is that DHA helps to repair and nourish brain cells.

Memory Omega 3

The “memory omega 3″ DHA is not produced by the body and must be consumed either by eating fish or by taking a dietary supplement containing DHA rich omega 3 oils. The saying that fish is brain food has merit in that fish contain naturally high levels of DHA. Studies of children and DHA levels show a relationship connecting lower levels of DHA in the bloodstream to lower IQ levels as well as slower development.

Omega 3 oils, particularly those containing DHA, have been shown to improve symptoms associated with attention deficit disorder, bi-polar disorder and depression. In studies of depression it was concluded that results were best when both DHA and EPA omega 3 fatty acids were used. If DHA is the “memory omega 3″ then EPA is its assistant in some way. The best omega 3 fatty acid sources contain both DHA and EPA. Fish oil is the best source of these.

Flax seed oil contains one of the other omega 3 oils, called ALA. ALA is important in the body, but must be converted to DHA (the memory omega 3) and EPA for use by the brain. This conversion is said to be inefficient at best and much larger amounts of flax seed oil (about ten times as much) must be consumed for adequate supplementation. Algae oil is rarely heard of and not commonly available, but does contain adequate amounts of DHA omega 3 fatty acids.

Proper selection of omega 3 fish oil is important. Fish oil is the best source of the memory omega 3 DHA, but can contain contaminants like mercury if not properly distilled. Liver oils (Cod liver oil and others) contain higher levels of contaminants than other fish oils, because the liver is responsible for removing poisons like mercury from the bloods stream.

Therefore, you should only purchase omega 3 oils made from fish that are molecularly distilled and pharmaceutical grade. This process ensures all impurities and contaminants are removed, leaving only the beneficial purified fish oil.

As consumers, we are faced daily with choices about what to eat. As a bodybuilder, we are bombarded with protein bars that promise everything from tons of protein, low carbs, less fat, and the cheapest bar on the market. But rarely do any of the bars meet the most necessary requirement of them all. If the bar
doesn’t taste great, then I don’t want to eat it.

Regardless of how much protein might exist in a particular bar, if Bar A has more but tastes worse then than Bar B, I’m still more likely to choose Bar B. As a consumer of protein bars, I don’t feel like forcing myself to eat something two or more times a day just because it has the best whey-protein on the market. And while some bars can claim to be great tasting, they never do the definitive real taste test.

The real taste test is a bar that not only health conscious adults will enjoy but one that you can give your child and it won’t come home in his/her backpack. If your child (if you are childless, get a bar and test it out on a niece/nephew) won’t eat the bar, chances are there’s a reason for that. Because it doesn’t taste good.

Over the last few years, low sugar, low carbs has become such a big deal. So now we have some of the healthiest bars on the market. But nobody wants (I didn’t say won’t) to eat them. Because it’s like going to the dentist. Who wants to go? We go because we know the consequences of not going are worse. But is that really how you want to feel about something that you eat two or more times a day?

How about eating a bar that tastes good, has enough of the good stuff in it, and eating it two times a day is a treat? Okay, so you might get more sugar. Again, you might get a few more carbs. But statistics prove that you will be more likely to consume all that good stuff more often if you like doing it. Most of us don’t daily do something that we don’t like doing unless there is a compelling reason to do so. The lure of money comes to mind when I think of work.

Choose a bar that has enough protein in it and enough carbs. And sugar isn’t all that bad. When you workout, your body needs instant fuel. Sugar is a better source of immediate fuel then protein. Having some sugar before your intense bodybuilding workout is not a bad thing. Forget all the science of the bar. Taste is most often overlooked in choosing a good protein bar. Give the bar to your child and see if they eat it. If they do, chances are, you will too.

Many of the studies and researches done lately focused on the nutrients known as antioxidants. Scientists are beginning to understand the preventing qualities of antioxidants but the average person does not yet understand what antioxidants do or what they are. But you will have the knowledge after reading this newsletter.

Understanding the function of antioxidants is not hard and taking advantage of their properties is quite simple. Diseases like Cancer and arteriosclerosis, are unable to advance and spread throughthe body, thanks to the actions of antioxidants like Vitamin C, A, E Beta-carotene and others. By blocking and neutralizing the destructive power of too much free radicals. These antioxidants allow us to prevent major diseases, a clear example of this is the remarkable reduction of breast cancer in women that consume raw and cocked spinach and carrots.

Why are they called antioxidant?

Latest researches have shown scientists that oxygen, the gas we depend on to live, creates some very harmful by-products that destroy the very life it helps sustain. There are several vitamins that reverse or slow the oxidation cause by oxygen, that is the reason they call them antioxidants. Oxidation, the reaction of oxygen with other chemicals, is the process that causes metals to rust, wood to burn, and a sliced apple to turn brown. As a matter of fact, if you coat a sliced apple withan antioxidant such as vitamin C, the apple will take a lot longer to change color.

It is best to remember that vitamin and mineral supplements should never be used as substitutesfor a healthy, well balanced diet! It is also important to note that we can “over-supplement” our bodies, taking much more than the recommended daily value of certain vitamins and minerals. Vitamins A and E are fat soluble, meaning that excess amounts are stored in the liver and fatty tissues, instead of being quickly excreted, creating a risk of toxicity and disease. Your best bet is to eat a diet rich in fruits, veggies, and whole grains. Sweet potatoes, carrots, spinach, cantaloupe, and mangoes are great sources of antioxidants.

A healthy level of free radicals is needed by the body in order to get rid of bacteria. Free radicals are atoms or groups of atoms that have at least one unpaired electron, which makes them highly reactive. Free radicals promote beneficial oxidation that produces energy and kills bacterial invaders. In excess, however, they produce harmful oxidation that can damage cell membranes and cell contents.

It is known that people who eat adequate amounts of fruits and vegetables high in antioxidantshave a lower incidence of cardiovascular disease, certain cancers, and cataracts.

Fruits and vegetables are rich in antioxidants, but it is not known which dietary factors are responsible for the beneficial effects. Each plant contains hundreds of phytochemicals (plant chemicals) whose presence is dictated by hereditary factors. Only well-designed long-term research can determine whether any of these chemicals, taken in a pill, would be useful for preventing any disease.

Without a doubt antioxidants are a vital tool in our fight against diseases, we all agree that sometimes eating the right thing is difficult but when compared with pain and suffering that we can bring to ourselves by cancer, arthritis or arteriosclerosis, a bowl of salad and an orange seems like a very tasty choice.
